Peace Sells … But Who’s Buying?

There is something about war

That heralds peace

Something about

The spill of blood

That blesses mother earth’s womb

Something about

A death scream

That is music to the ear

Something about evil that spells good

Something about sorrow

That begets joy

Something about night

 That is brighter than day

Yes, something about death

That nurtures life

There is something about

Serenity that haunts the restless

Something about life

That heralds death

Something about day

That is darker than night

Something about joy

That moans with sorrow

Something about good

That smacks of evil

Something about charity

That enslaves

Something about freedom

That enchains

Yes, peace sells

But who’s buying?

(Inspired by the album “Peace sells … but who’s buying?” by Megadeth)

  1. Just skimmed through to see what song inspired this…

I guess its true for the most part. Not bad.

  2. One word. Striking.

  3. Nice poem! Majority of which is true.

Reminds me of the fact that Doctors only make money when people fall ill and generator merchants only sell when there’s no light.

And I’m beginning to wonder…@esosa …it seems your poems are always inspired by heavy metal or rock music.

  4. I like this one.
    Nice work.

  5. Lovely; I’m buying.

  6. @esosa, that something is called “duality of nature”

    BTW, am buying too…well done!

  7. good poem- the time has come for us all to buy peace becos we need it badly
