Cave in

The big moment came, he straightened up
So excited, wishing the clock wont stop
The priest smiled as the couple stood
It was thrilling, smiling bride, it felt good

‘I do’ She said with such a rush
‘I do’ the words he said too and enjoyed it so much
The priest turned to the congregation
‘If anyone has reasons…..or we continue the celebration’

Everyone could not help but stare in disbelieve
His heart sank, nothing could offer him relief
His bride fainted, an uproar was starting to fill the air
The priest was startled, life seemed unfair

She came in, dressed in a tattered wedding gown
She was beautiful, but wore a frown
It was clear to see She was with child
The tears fell down her face, it was difficult to hide

She stopped halfway and brought out a box
She said ‘I made up my mind at dusk
I ve repeated the vows to myself over and over again
I refuse to let you leave me, I refuse to feel pain

I told you i wont give up on us
Even If you hate me and my sky get rough
I ve given you, I ‘ll still give you all my love
I love you Bruce, with you I ve more than enough

So today I carry your child and this vow
Curse me inside, despise me after now
I ve been patient, God knows I ‘ll die without you
I ‘m here to stay, prove my love is true’

Should he feel ashamed, should he feel any worse
He just stared at her, a blessing or a curse
I dont blame him for the confusion he feels within
Too bad, he could only watch his world cave in
