Our fatherland,
Land of false prophets
And distinguished fraudsters
Miracle sellers with varying powers
Heaven’s cashier with no credentials
A million societies with a billion little leaders
All with a Jupiter size ego
And a direct link to Senegal or Mali
Or any other places where their Allah lives.
You will know them when you see them,
In their oversize regalia
Walking as if the earth will crack
Adding decades to their age
Carrying themselves with predictable arrogance
Spitting out meaningless pontifications
And
Twisting the messages of divine Ayats
Concocting false Hadiths and stupid stories
Justifying absurdities with impunity
Dancing to their tuneless song of shame
Also
Monopolizing our tainted air waves
Hijacking our disarray thought process
Desecrating everything along the way
Little filthy bastards
Who award themselves unknown titles
Along with crazy, several line appellation,
While adding more solutes to our hypertonic solution
Plucking our budding flowers with their scary hands
Claiming holy communion and inspired fornication!
Not done
Gleefully playing side kicks to our thieving thugs
Procuring exotic cars and choice mansions
Extorting the poor and stealing from God,
Cursing dissents, killing rivals
If you meet them
On the streets of Kano or in the compounds of Ilorin
Along the highways of Lagos or swamps of Port Harcourt
Do pick up a stone and haul it at their ugly faces
Despicable beings;
Deserving of a life in Kiri Kiri
Amidst other people of the same ilk
Those who deliberately stepped on our faces
And milked to death our starved cows
Without remorse or apology
An inglorious end they will all meet
Amin.

Hehehehehehehe! I like this one! Nice!
@Seun-Odukoya. I am glad you like this. Thank you!
hmmm…
@chemo. I should take that as a yes?
Yeah @layrite. That’s definitely a yes. Nice one.
Hahahahahaha
This is lovely and funny.
I thought only the christian preachers were guilty.
Nice one, man, nice one.
@kaycee. Well, it is everywhere (with some little modification and you know, adaptation). Thanks for reading, and I appreciate the comment.
Ah!! Really?? Na wa o. Your poem just enlightened me and it’s very cool.
Really, @gooseberry. It is all over. Shukran!
Ha! This is full of rage. Well who wouldn’t after noticing the acts of people of such calibre. Nice one.
@ablyguy. I was just sickened with those ‘people’ defining my religion for me. Thank you for coming.
Hehehe…stone them, you go sabi say dem too get dagger for inside their agbada…Well done..$ß.
@bubbllinna. Haul the stone and engage your legs, that you would be safe from their dagger.
Thank you very much for branching.
Catchy caption, i liked it…
@elly. Thanks!
I liked this.
No, I loved this.
I can feel the righteous excoriating anger from thousands of miles away.
Well done, @Layrite.
@Tola Odejayi. I am happy you like this. Thank you, sir.
“…Heaven’s cashier with no credentials” happens in every religion. If I am left with an option, I will remove religion and replace it with “LOVE”. good poem.
@Dike. Hun hun. Love would do just good, if we can all just each other.
I love the defiant voice of the speaker.
Really, religion has done us more harm in this world than any epidemic ever has.
Welldone
@Electrika. Couldnt agree more. Although I think the problem is with the practitioners and not the religions.
I appreciate your comment.
Cool! This @layrite is good! I like the poem, plus the arrangement is cool. It comes at you gently, yet hits you right between the eyes. Well written.
@Uzuazo Onwah. Now my head is swelling. I should sleep well tonight. Thank you for your comment, doctor.

I just write am now, @lacto. And @admin sure took his time before publishing it.
Cava bien!.
You are really vexing, as you should by the way. Wish I could send this missive to those so-called sheiks
@Layrite, to say this is good is an understatement. True, these fake sheiks really shake our confience.
@Myne. Thank you! For now, we should just focus on reducing their customer base. Even if the ‘Sheikhs’ get it, it will most likely have little or no impact on them. ‘Their heart is sealed… to reasoning …’ Thank you again.
@ichadgreat. Thank you very much. Really appreciate it.
