Oh yes, kill me
What else can you do?
No, what will be left, I ask
When you seize that
Which you know gives me life
And hold it ….
Even the carpenter’s vice
Will beg for mercy
At your skill at it
Yes, I am talking to you
Who else
If not the four of you
I am on the ground already
So I fear no fall
Asphyxia hugging me
Not to talk of words
Which have long since travelled
To a destination
I would rather
Ask you….
I don’t know how you do it
But do it, you do, God!
Sometimes I wonder how mean
You can be
And whoever gave you the heart
To be so heartless
Is worth knowing
And aweing
So when you pose
Taking those practised positions
And pinions
With that gun you call a voice
Shooting down all that I am
you mean you don’t have a modicum of pity?
and when you people enrapture me
to that ninth cloud
Where returning
Is a zillion times worse
Than a stab to the chest
You really think you should be forgiven, eh?
I face your chords
With all the might i can muster
Punching helplessly
To fight off what I can
As If I can
Never knowing
That behind me
the most handsome appearances
of gap-toothed blokes
two sets of twins
in a murderous mix
lie and lurk in wait
to devour what
if any
that will be left of my will,
their melody and rhythm
all the while sitting
cross-legged, like a partial umpire
with a satisfied smile
and a pitiful bob of head
waiting with a profound desire
for my breath to expire.
Eat my flesh, you cannibals!
Drink my blood, you vampires!
and let us see
What kind of taste
You will foam with
Or cud with
When you kick me
To kick the bucket
Or when you draw me
To your bottomless lure.
*tiring hiss*
