Tear-laden sky
We appreciate your empathy
But, like the mess of a fallen egg
Some things cannot be undone
Your torrential tears have appeased the earth
That the grave might be an easy dig
Weep no more and give way
Let us plant him, who has become stilled
Perhaps he would return at harvest
Because my new bride shall soon take in.

“Let us plant him, who has become stilled
Perhaps he would return at harvest”
perhaps…reincarnation…perhaps.
Short. Deep. I like the rhythm of this. Good work bro. longest time.
Deep…I like its concept of the triangle of life; the living, the dead and the unborn. Well put.
Nice…It is true then, what they say..that for every death comes a birth…May d stilled one reincarnate if he was gud…Amin o…
This is one short poem that i like…Well done…$ß
“Nice” poem.
Doesn’t inspire any other word.
Concise cosmology.
Deep thoughts + Few lines + gud presentation +fine finishing = perfect poem…bravo.
I like how u keep it concise with the emotions in the lines greatly compressed.
U have spoken volumes, good poem.
I think this is powerful. Pretty cool. I really like this.
I liked this.
Easily reminiscent of ‘Abiku’ and less gloomy.
Very powerful and the best poem I have read on Naija Stories in a while. Great Job @onireke!
Sure, it is reminiscent of Abiku as @lelouch said but it is still so sublime. Those first four lines are so full of beauty to me. It’s classic! Well done, well done, well done!!!!
