First wash

With water

by now you should be salivating.

Next

Position the washed stick

At a convenient  angle

45, 90, 270? Depends on you.

Then

Dig your teeth

Just in-between

The hard protective layer

And the soft fibrous core.

At that point pull quickly!

For some pleasure is to be found

In the briskness and sound of tear.

Then chew tenderly

So you take in the linings of sugary molecules

That decided to secede from the core.

Hmmm…pleasure.

When this  series of

‘Position-tear-and-chew’ is ended

Revealing the core

In its wet light-cream fibrous beauty,

Attack from the side or top

Wedging the core with your molar

And maybe incisor

Wedging with canine might pose threats to

Proper dentine formation.

Now

Bite off and chew!

Squeeeeze…cheeeew… squeeeeze

Savour the bliss

Slowly

Gently

There need not be any rush at this point.

Hmmm….Hmmmmm….Ecstasy!

Repeat the sequence

Forceful tear, tender chewing

Aggressive bite, gentle squeezing

You will not forget the delights

Sugarcane will grant you

As its rivulets of sucrose

Stream into your mouth

And exchange warm greetings

With your taste buds.

You will always remember

That final spurt of pleasure

that cascades down your throat

As the Sucrose Escorts

Take their place and

Sweeten Saliva’s journey

Down to the gastric chambers.
