Dead Love?

It’s hard to explain

But I know when his love died

His breathtaking smile

Became a shadow with a haunted look

A promise forgotten

He said he’ll always love me

My lauded humour

Rewarded by the hollowness of his laughter

When love dies

It is hard to be in sync

The same hands

But the touch now repulsive

My words

Infuriated his delicate eardrum, not

Soft answers

Did not turn his wrath way

I still tried

Holding as to eel in slippery hands

In the dark

I wonder if he ever, truly loved

My bleeding heart

The pain still intensifies with each breath

He is gone

Finding love comes easy to him

As I rearrange

The broken pieces of my heart

I’ll be strong

He will come back to me, some day
