This Life of Mine

This Life of Mine

This mind is a gift and I will cherish it.

I promise to always appreciate and nurture it.

I will feed it constantly with meals of wisdom

And exercise it frequently by investigating earth’s kingdom

This mind is a gift and I will cherish it

My success or otherwise shall surely emanate from within it

These hands are my tools and I will use them

To work, to gather and to harvest will not be a problem

I will arise early to till these fertile lands

And prosperity shall ceaselessly flow from each of these two hands

These hands are my tools and I will use them

With them I shall create my dynasty’s emblem

This heart is a gem and I will treasure it

For streams of love shall flow from the core of it

It will beat in at-one-ment with all that’s pure

And shun with resolve earth’s deceptive allure

This heart is a gem and I will treasure it

And only real love shall find an abode within it

This life is an opportunity and I will not misuse it

A chance to show God’s glory on earth and I will not abuse it

Of it shall tales and songs of exploits be written

Off it shall any hint of mediocrity be smitten

This life is a golden opportunity and I will use it

That generations yet unborn may be impacted by it
