Nigeria

Nigeria

From up in the air

It looks like a green fair

Pretty scapes, pretty lakes

Make you stare and gape

But, the beauty they say may be fake

When a proper look you take

Filthy streets, crowded cites

Makes you sad and weep

Is the problem transportation?

No, some say it is Population

Others say it is Corruption

The answer may lie in divine Intervention

We are called a third world race

Developing in our own slow race

But there is always a smile on my face

Whenever i think of Nigeria, My place

  1. There’ll always be something interesting about our country. Good poem.

  2. Nice; Nigeria with her perculiaries make her who she is. Think this “We are called a third world race, Developing in our own slow race” might have sounded better like this, ‘We are called a third world race, Developing at our own slow pace.’ What do you think?

  3. Thanks ma’am. “am” instead for “in”

  4. sowi,
