Naija Stories is the online community for Nigerian writers and readers of all interests and skill levels. Naija Stories is a way for readers to discover new voices and for writers to share their work, gain recognition, and connect with their audience and each other. There is a special workshop section for feedback and critique from other writers. Whether you’re an enthusiastic, creative writer looking for the perfect place to store and display your writing online or a casual reader searching for a good story, Naija Stories is your website. As a writer, this is a place to showcase your creativity and for a reader, here you can feast to your heart’s content.
It is planned that with time, this site will become a community bursting with activities, inspiration and creativity. To start with, free memberships are available to the first hundred people to submit a request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Each membership will include a writing portfolio, numerous writing tips, and a forum that will provide the chance to meet and bond with fresh creative minds. No other website services the Naija writer better than we do.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this Cost Anything?
It’s free to publish and read.
Do I retain ownership of my work?
Yes, absolutely. You retain full rights to your work and may do with it as you please.
How Can I Get My Writing on Naija Stories?
There are two ways to get your writing included on Naija Stories. You can either publish it directly on the site. In this case, your content will appear on a Naija Stories page and you can then promote it.
Or, you can add your writing to your own blog and then link to it from Naija Stories.
In both cases, your writing will appear in the archives.
I have my writing published on another site. Can I still include it on Naija Stories?
Yes. You can link to that piece of content from Naija Stories. We only allow links directly to a short story, novel, poem, or some other creative piece of content. Links to the homepages of websites, the front of your blog, or non-relevant content will be deleted.
Can I include someone else’s writing that I’ve enjoyed on Naija Stories?
Yes, you can add their writing using links as far as it has been published online somewhere. However you must be sure that you have permission.
Why Should I Add My Writing to Naija Stories? Several reasons:
Flexibility. We give you tools to publish your work on the site or link to work published elsewhere. No other Nigerian creative writing site on the Web does that.
Control. As an author you have total control of your experience. You can remove your work whenever you want, delete innapropriate comments you get, and monitor the number of comments you get. You also retain full ownership of your work.
Exposure. Naija Stories is visited by many readers eager to find interesting writing to read. The site also optimizes your work so that it is found by readers searching via the search engines – Google, etc.
Fun. Writers and readers on the site enjoy meeting on another, bondings over common likes, and inspiring each other to future literary endeavors.
Mission. Be a part of something bigger. Help us build the largest organized database of creative and literary writing out of Nigeria.
Free. Doing all of this is completely free.
Why Is Publishing on Naija Stories Better than On a Regular Blog?
Naija Stories is created specifically for Nigerian creative writing and literature. Organizing your writing on a blog is not easy. Blogs also don’t organize your writing portfolio. They are designed for time-based journal writing, not literary writing. Naija Stories gives you tools to connect with your audience. You can Feature certain work in your porfolio, embed images, audio and video, tell your readers about your latest news and keep tabs of your fans.
And if you’d prefer to post on a Blog or another site, that’s also accepted. Just link to it from Naija Stories and add your work to the archive. It’s free and it will only drive more readers and visitors to your blogs or websites.
We welcome your thoughts, comments, and suggestions. (email@example.com)
